GOLD CASH GOLD have no shame. Case in point: Do you know what your record collection sounds like? Do you really? GOLD CASH GOLD know... They know that people's record collections as a rule don't adhere to one particular sound. Admit it, you have some so-called skeletons in your closet [or your collection, as it were]—we all do. The thing about GOLD CASH GOLD is that they are not, nor have they ever been afraid of admitting their skeletons.

GOLD CASH GOLD's debut on Times Beach Records, Paradise Pawned, Vol.1 is something of a throwback- a classic rock sound. You can hear the various classic rock influences in the songs. Eric Hoegemeyer and Steve Zuccaro took artistic control and produced Paradise Pawned Vol 1 themselves. The creative process took place at Detroit's famed Rustbelt Studios in what has internally become an infamous two-week session. "They never ate, slept, or left the studio for that matter," claims a Rustbelt employee, "so we just locked them in at night and let them go at it."

GOLD CASH GOLD are troublemakers. In a traditionally very cynical music-town, they were turning heads with their live performances within a few weeks of being a band. The Detroit Metro Times said: "...the band...has already penned a future rock radio staple in Diamond Mind. Live, the cocksure chemistry between Hoegemeyer and Zuccaro...resembles Rocks –era Tyler and Perry." That's not to say they wear their many influences on their sleeves. Rather, they incorporate them all seamlessly; from Prince (before he became a symbol) to Zeppelin, it all makes sense.

GOLD CASH GOLD just welcomed a new bassist this year, and she is one bad-ass fucking rocker. Her name is Rose Mazzola. She used to play in the DISTILLERS (she was then known as Rose Casper) and is the daughter of Joey Mazzola of Sponge and Detroit Cobras fame. GOLD CASH GOLD founding members Hoegemeyer and Zuccaro were in a band (at a very young age!) called Charm Farm that had major label success, and later did a stint touring the US with some big name Detroit artists, but they decided to take the bull by the BALLS and put their own damn name on the kick drum. Eric Hoegemeyer also doubles as producer-savant; most notable of late is his production of label mate Audra Kubat’s album, Million Year Old Sand.

GOLD CASH GOLD have the makings of a legendary rock band: songs, sonics, sex, swagger and showmanship. They gleefully embrace and incorporate everything that made Detroit music famous: soulful and funky, tenacious and bombastic. GOLD CASH GOLD are yet another Times Beach band you’d never guess is from DETROIT. These dudes work hard for their rock.
